Farewell Program of 8th Batch of Department of Law and Human Rights

The Department of Law and Human Rights of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) bade farewell to the outgoing students of 8th batch of Department of Law and Human Rights on February 12, 2013. On this occasion, a program was arranged at the Mukta Mancha of CSE Departmental premises. Pro Vice Chancellor of UAP Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir was present as the Chief Guest. Head of the Department of Law and Human Rights Prof. Dr. Mir Shamsur Rahman presided over the function. Faculty Members Ms. Nazia Wahab, Mr. Humayun Kabir and others were also present. Program started with recitation from the Holy Quran. The graduating students along with the Head of the Department of Law and Human Rights Prof. Dr. Mir Shamsur Rahman took the oath. At this stage the students of the junior batches were called upon stage to recall their beautiful memories with the students of 8th batch, the representatives of the outgoing batch too came upon stage and remembered the memories of their student life at UAP. Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir unwrapped the souvenir of the Farewell program of 8th batch of L & HR.

The Chief Guest of the program Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir wished all the graduating students of 8th batch success in their future life. He said, "It is difficult to say goodbye, yet it is a good thing that now you are going to step in the real world. All these years you have tried your best to gain knowledge and now it is the time to implement the knowledge in the right field. I believe you are going to prove yourselves as honest and truthful Lawyers. It is the time for you to march forward with confidence."

"Now we are living in an era where honesty is becoming rare, the practice of speaking the truth is waning", he said. "Always be truthful and honest in life, honesty is the power" he added.

Faculty member Ms. Nazia Wahab said to the graduating students, "You guys were always helpful, no matter what initiative I took you always helped me and supported me, I will miss you truly."

Mr. Humayun Kabir, Lecturer of L & HR said a student should understand the meaning rather than memorizing the lessons, or he would become like the character "Chatur" in 3 Idiots movie of Raju Hirani. He congratulated the students and wished them success.

Mr. Sazzad ul Islam, Lecturer of L & HR said the students of 8th batch would always remain in his mind; this batch was prominent one, not only academic but also in co curricular activities their performance was outstanding.

Lastly the Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Mir Shamsur Rahman wished all students of 8th batch a very bright career and future. "Your academic life is about to end; so far you have listened to your mentors as the students, you have studied accordingly and attended the regular classes and exams. Now your professional life will start. Our guidance and blessings will always be there for you, if you need your mentors' advice." He advises the students to be positive and proactive.

The program was later followed by a cultural segment. Students of Department of Law and Human Rights of UAP performed there. The audience liked the Tagore song "Purano Shei Diner Kotha" and other Bangla contemporary and folk songs.
